S210 EClass Audio 10

Hi all, I am new around here, so I might ask silly questions...but bear with me!

I have a facelift model 1999 E240 Estate that has the Cassette Audio 10 head unit and the 6 Disc Multiplayer in the boot, I am looking to upgrade the head unit to the newer Audio 10 with the CD player in it. I have seen a few on Ebay, and was wondering if is is a straight swap or if I will need to have a fiddle with any wiring? I presume that the car has the fibre optic cabling already installed...?

I have had a look at some of the posts on here but can't find anything specific. Any advice please? Ta.

hello mate yes its a straight swap. plug and play did the same with my 2001 E240 w210.but they only play proper cd's or cd's recorded using audio cd's

Just done the same thing myself, make sure you get the MF2910 model as it has the flat front panel, the later ones won´t fit as the front panel is curved.
The MF2910 was fitted to the early "c" classes as well as the "e" classes.

Rich, where were you a month ago when I was looking for one........bought a Maplins job which works really well and has loads of functions ( SD card / fold down front / CDMP3 reads anything / USB input on front ) but would look more at home in a pimped up Corsa rather than my 1998 w210 Estate
