Ours has just come back from the bodyshop, having had the rear doors and tailgate done. I'm not that impressed with the housekeeping, as the cargo blind tracks are fouled with black dust, presumably from grinding the rust out the tailgate. The cargo blind is covered in greasy dirty marks, and one of the door seals is not properly refitted. The paint finish looks acceptable, but what is the standard supposed to be for refiitting the door seals. Are they supposed to leave them as they were from the factory, or do they try and get rid of the retained moisture problem by sticking them down to the top of the door with sealant.
Any info would be useful before i go off on one with the service manager.

There is a contract term that we use [we being the servants of the Great White Chief] 'a serviceable, but not knew condition'. That means in lawyer speak that your vehicle is returned to condition that would be considered fair and reasonable for its age/intended use; had it not suffered from defects in material/build and design that necessitated intrusive warranty repair.

Having said that when I worked in the trade one tried to return a vehicle in the best condition that one possibly could. Otherwise Tricky Dicky ( you could " always find a packet of five tucked under the carpet of his car, its a matter oh nowin where") would be breathing down your neck!;)

Thanks T bear

I ran it over to the dealers just for their say-so,not to have a whinge, and I have to say i was properly impressed. Fixed the seal on the spot, apologised for the state of the rest of the car, and said bring it in and we'll clean it up. Not bad considering they didn't do that to the car.
Another point for Stratstones at Hudds then.

The rust problem will never go away, best to keep the car covered under Mobilo too.

Mine is due a service next week and I have found a bad rust ptach over the driver side rear door on the underside of the roof. A baddie, interested to see what happens now as its already heading for a new tailgate. Meanwhile the old Peugeot soldiers on!
