S211 2004 Car won't lock/unlock with the key fob

W211 station wagon 2004 220cdi problem with locking/unlocking with the key fob. Was intermittent and then just stopped working changed the antenna amplifier changed batteries of the fob no change. Fuse #8 on the rear SAM was all fine. The problem was in a red and yellow cable, that comes out of the antenna was broken behind the rear sam in the big bulck of cables, had to peel about 15 cm of the insulation to find out that it splits in two and the connection was severely corroded to say the least. Had to peel of a bit and reconnect it now it works like a charm .thats for everyone out there experiencing the same problem with their forst generation w211 wagons . Its all thanks to a norwegian fella who never gave up on the problem until it was solved .
