Have a 2005 face lift E55. Having problems with the Airmatic system. I have no power to the compressor nor to the relay base (S in the engine bay fuse box)
The pre fuse box is not under the passenger foot well, just the modules there. Would or could it be under the drivers side mat ??

Thank you.

Check fuse 37, end of the dashboard

Thank you, I have and the 40A labelled “air pump” in the engine bay.
The Airmatic is one of the 40A ones in the pre fuse box. Number 76, Airmatic relay, but not sure that relay “S”could cope with 40A but that’s new too.
The front half is working as it should, new piston ring on the compressor, new filter for it too. Lovely…

as for the rear, that is this weeks

So you have power to the relay now? It’s a single level sensor on the rear. Little arm often rots away. It’s in the middle, up above the diff

Thank you, the system is working at the front. Pump runs quiet, car raises when I press “raise vehicle” and the dash displays the change of modes. It has held up in the raised position over night.
New piston ring on compressor, filter, and even changed the relay.
Looking at replacing the rear sensor and arm because… it may not cure the problem but as I don’t have a lift nor can I drive too far think it prudent to replace it then it’s done.

I could test, change, the valve block and might do whilst waiting for my local garage.
