New problem just happened this morning as I was putting my golf clubs in the boot, the tailgate dropped and nearly a brained me.

Hoped it was just a blip but unfortunately not, still not staying up. Quite dangerous as it slams shut given the weight of it.

Any ideas of what has gone wrong?

Does anyone know how to change them...we could all learn something then?

I have drafted a post for feedback on this problem and it will go up soon.

Thanks for the quick responses, this club is just amazing. The level of commitment to help others is second to none.

Any instructions on how to change them is much appreciated. Also any guidance on the best place to source the parts would be helpful too. :)

This is exactly why it is better to post on here for all to see, rather than all this pointless secret squirrel email crap.

I haven't got a particular problem with my email being visible. I am probably just being dense not being able to see how to edit.:confused:

No, it's not your fault - you're not being dense. The edit post facility only lasts a finite time. After which the edit button magically disappears...

gas struts

usually these gas struts have a ball and socket pivot type arrangement held in place by a spring clip which you will have to partially or fully remove and the strut them just pulls off the ball just make sure the tailgate is fully open and held by an accomplice when theyre being removed as without the struts youd be surprised how heavy it is as you found out

OK so no one post on how to do it, so is it better for the member if I say that I cannot send out the job sheet because it upsets you and Niarac.

It doesn't upset me in the slightest - I just find it odd!

Rather than having to send out stuff countless times (you must have a lot of time on your hands to keep doing this sort of thing over and over and over again) you could just post it the once and then just point the people who want the help to the right place. You could post on here, or put the file(s) on dropbox and then just post links. Dead easy!

That's what everyone else does. Surely you have much more important things which demand your time, so why waste so much of it going over the same ground all the time?

Unless, of course, there are other motives in play?

This is a genuine series of questions by the way - I am not interested in trying to 'score points'.

You are totally wrong, I cannot post it here in any shape or form without 4 hours work, even then its doubtful, I have 4000 of them.

The ones that request the help do not find it odd

Could you not find a more adult, constructive way of expressing yourself ?

The "SARCASTIC" smiley was superfluous, in view of your tone.

Do you feel that your post has helped resolve the OP's problem ?
