I am struggling with my new (to me ) 2010 S212 E350 AG as the driver's seat is starting to kill me - it's really uncomfortable and I just can't get it comfortable.
I think the passenger one is much better so I was wondering if the bases to the seats (the bit that i'm struggling with) as swappable (i.e. can I swap the base of the driver and passenger seats?)

Which bit is uncomfortable? I found my (previous) C Class estate was awful on a long trip as there was a bar across the back of the seat squab that got to my tail bone. Tried all sorts of ways of adjusting it without any joy. Eventually got a local trimmer to put some extra foam & padding under the leather at the back of the squab over the bar. That fixed it. (Bit of trial & error first. Try a rolled-up T shirt wedged into the junction between squab & backrest ) I can just feel the same bar in my current 2003 CLK, but it doesn't cause me any grief. Obviously another MB design "quirk".... Bear in mind that they seem to be designed for very well-padded German businessmen!
On consideration, if the passenger one is better, it may be that the seat foam or webbing (spring base) in the driver's side has started to collapse. Dead easy job for a trimmer. How many miles has it done - and roughly where are you? Swapping seats side to side would be a pain - look at the switches, levers and motors!
