Hi all,
Car is now 6 years old so not going to dealer, just hit 60k Km.

What oil should be used? I see Castrol Syntrax 75w-140 being mentioned, 1200ML.

Can anyone offer any advise? Is it just a basic drain / fill plug? (Is it hex/allen or a nut?) - I work on all my own marine diesel engines / gearboxes but will give it to my indie friend as he has a lift and is quite a tidy mechanic, but would be nice to know in advance what's involved.

Thanks all

On a level surface. Or the fill level won't be correct.

Thanks guys. Well familiar with the general idea (lost count of times i've done it over the years on previous cars) and also used to marine gearboxes... just checking that there's nothing out of the ordinary.

Is it a hex head or nut? (any idea of size?) And any idea of what oil to use?

Also, as said, it'll be on a lift... so if it's not level we've got bigger issues!!

The oil spec should be in the handbook.

My older cars are MB 235.7 .
Have a look at Opie Oils website , they have a checker for each car .
Use Fuchs oils

Thanks for the info, 75w85 seems to be the correct oil for S213 2017 e220, yes? (I wrongly stated 75w140 in the OP, which appears to be for AMG)
