Hi there all,

I have recently noticed driving in London traffic that my car temp is creeping up. The temp goes above the 80 Mark.

I have a pic enclosed. The red line shows, where the temp goes up to. I am not sure if the fan is coming on or not.

On a long run it doesn’t go above the 80 Mark.

I do not know when the coolant was changed last.

What is the car trying to tell me? Does it need a coolant change? A new Radiator or what else?

Its a W140 with 130k on it.

These cars can go to 100c before the secondary AC condensor fans cut in. Yours looks perfectly normal for being stuck in traffic in the hot weather.

T212 facelift, 2013. A few toys including pan roof, 19" rims, Harmon Kardon, nappa, privacy glass.
My 2001 210, 320cdi will read just under 80 on a run. I drive into London each day and with the increased ambient temp this will go up to just under 90 befre the fan(s) dotheir job - this is stop/start driving.

Nothing to worry about, and would state the no.s I've given are based on my needles as opposed to a more accurate testing.

As a matter of course I will be flushing the system over the next weekend or so, as I do not know whenit was last doen and for the sake of a handful of £1 coins you'd be mad not to.

Don't forget to turn the heater on hot when you run the car to "help" avoid air locks.

Good point. Cheers for that.
