Some may remember (if you ever read my ramblings) that I had aquired a full interior from a 2005 W220 S class Limo with the electric rear seats.

Now fitting the seats into the car isn't a problem but the door capping where the switch fits on the long wheelbase is too long for my short wheelbase car.

I was advised that the electric rear seats may not have been available for the short version but I have found a car on EBay which appears to be a swb with electric seats. Can someone confirm and is it possible that someone could find a part number for me for left and right plastic door capping with a cut out for the seat switch and heater switch for the swb car in black?

The ebay auction is here:

Thanks

Baz

OK,

went to see the main dealer in Warrington today and he brought up about 200 different possible part numbers for the door cappings! He reckons that without a part number it may be a little difficult to track down the right one.

He did however say that if I had a reg number or a VIN number of a Short Wheelbase S Class that has electric rear seats, regardless of the trim colour, he could tie it down to within a few part numbers and would then finally be able to trace the part number for the one in black with seat heaters and electric rear movement.

Can anyone help? I am getting a bit frustrated with this rear seat project!

Thanks

Baz

Thanks Malcolm.

The parts guy did look on the EPC and I have had a look here and there are stacks of different combinations of door cappings, more so for the rear because of the two different sizes too!

It is just typical that the two on EBay both have private plates which don't show up on the Merc computer so they can't track the part numbers through them!

Contact the sellers, and say that you are a prospective buyer and would like to HPI the vehicle and need the chassis number.
Worth a try, they can only say no.

You can take the VIN from any car in Tesco car park to any dealers for court. I have done this when upgrading
