Hi all, I'v got an S320 with a mysterious problem. I get very bad gas milage, I've had the car scanned but everything checked out ok (not at MB garage) Some that I talked to, say it's probably the Mass Air Flow Sensor, but I'm not willing to spend all that money not being sure. So far I had the thermostat changed, front and rear O2 sensors, and it still gets bad milage. The exhaust does have a bit of smell to it, that tells me it's not running properly, I'm guessing the fuel mixture is off.
What could it be, please help, thanks.

Tell us what sort of figures you're getting and what sort of driving you do...........

There's always someone who's doing worse.

I only get about 450-500 km to a tank. And it's without hard acceleration, mixed city and highway trips.

Hi

There is no way you can tell if the engine is running ok, with out

1. Checking fault codes.
2. Check live data to make sure all sensors are reading what they should be, including the air mass sensor.
3. Checking the emissions with a four gas analyser.

Having carried out all these checks by somebody who knows what they are doing can you be sure that the engine is running as it should be.

In my humble opinion.
