Hi
This is my first posting on this forum. I currently run a 2000 S320. What tyres do members recommend. I've always used Pirelli P6000's but some body has advised Mitchelin Pilots.
Many thanks

I'm running Goodyear NCT5 on the front and Michelin Pilots on the back for better wear and am very pleased with the result. The P6000's on the front when I bought the car seemed a bit lacking in grip turning into tight corners and roundabouts in the wet.

A few of us are now running Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's, excellent dry and brilliant grip in the wet - and a great tread pattern too ! I was running Pilots previously and the Goodyearshave the edge I reckon.

I agree with David. I used to run Michelin Pilot Sports on the 500E but now use the F1s as they are marginally better and cheaper - both on cost and wear. Our E320CDIT210 came with P6000s and I can honestly say that the car was c**p on them. We changed to Michelin Alpin winter tyres when the snow arrived and noticed a definite improvement even in the dry (shows how bad the P6000s are!) but I will change to NCT5s in the Spring. For me Michelins used to be the tyre to use as goodgrip/handling plus wear rate was better than anybody elses. That has now been overturned by the Goodyear qualities especially, as they are invariably cheaper.

According to the magazine tyre tests I've seen (and the German magazines are very technical) the very dated P6000 and NTC5's are to be avoided. The NTC5 is very bad in wet weather braking. The P6000 is bad everywhere including noise.
The Tyres mentioned by others above including the Continental premium contact II head the field.
