S350 unusually worn brake pedal rubber on low mileage car

Hi, I’m looking to buy a 2014 27k miles S350 w222 and noticed it has a rather worn rubber brake pedal. Wondering whether it may have done more miles than is on the clock or lived a hard life as a taxi etc? It may have spent most of its life in London hence the wear but should I be concerned?

At 27k I wouldn't expect much wear at all. It would be ringing loud alarm bells.
Id be wanting it checked by someone with Star

Hi, I Asked my local indi to look at the service book and it seems to stack up with the mileage. If someone clocked it how would Star show a discrepancy?

The brake pads on the rear look like they have been replaced with brembo ones and there is a lip on the disks as well..

It was out of mot for a 6 months in 2020 and also missed its first mot by a few months as well.. mileage is low.. missed a service in 2019 (covered less than 1k miles) but all others are there on the digital history.

I drove my last car for 10 years, it did 273000 miles.. I have a lazy bad habit of just using the right hand edge of the brake pedal yet it never had signs of wear...

The mileage is stored in multiple places. A clocker doesn't usually get them all.
Star can read all the locations.

maybe the pedal rubber is now made of "cheaper" stuff" but as advised get it checked on star by reliable indy.

221 store the mileage in about 6 different locations on the car so rarely gets found, just a case of going through each one and checking they match

If in doubt don't buy it. As others have said a worn pedal rubber is unusual. Any seller worth his salt would have changed that anyway.

How do you know unless you ask ?

There may just may be an innocent explanation, I know someone with a built up shoe that caused similar signs of wear.

If their unconvincing then run to the hills with your money.

Thanks all for your wisdom on this one.. decided not to proceed with the S350. Buying a 2014 CL500 instead from a Merc dealer. Your comments vsv CAN mileage blockers is worrying though - how can you guard against this when buying a used car?
