Trying to find out how to tell the ATF level in the box on a S500 coup?

If you also know the location of the cruise control unit id be doubly grateful (sorry for the spelling - dislequisqik)

Hi,
You have a thread running regarding traction control problems, if your cruise control worked before the traction control problem then this will be the reason why your cruise is not working, as cruise control utilises speed signal from traction control system.

You need a dip stick, you can buy one for £35 or ask someone to dip it for you.

Sorry for being thick - the s280 has dip stick the s500 doesn't - should it have, is it missing or are s500 drivers deamed by MB to not want to trivialise themselves with fluid levels??

Thanks Andy - it was only as i was typing the other thread it occurred to me they may well get there speed info from the same sensors!!

It depends on the build year and box fitted, if you have a red cap on the filler tube, then it did not come with one

Do you have the EPC light on the dash??

if so you could be looking for a fault that isnt there, run some diags if possible but it sounds like the air flow meter is on its way out.
