S500 Instrument display

As always I am looking for help and advice, I have a 52 plate S500 and always like to show the digital speedometer rather than the default trip meter and mileometer i.e. every time I start up I have to press the arrow down button on the steering wheel to change the default display to the digital speedometer.

Having to press one button each time I start up is not a great problem it's just that I would rather have the default set as the digital speedometer - is there any way of switching to this accordingly?

If you have the car serviced by someone with a diagnosit reader,they can go into the menu and make it permanent, I do not know of any other way.
