Im new to this forum and have found it a great source of enjoyment the very short time ive been here
i would just like to sound off about the s55 i drive for a living (hard life i know)
6 months ago the ABC warning light came on and the car was cutting out etc phoned local dealer (derwent of leeds) 'because its an amg sclass & still under warrenty you have to ring assist who will recover you and arange for a s class replacement while the repairs are done' said the man on the phone
this was sorted and he dropped car off at wakefield depot of derwent sorry no s class available in country for you should be done tommorow said assist
3 days later still not done an s500 arives from london to use while my bosses is fixed
2 weeks later still not fixed 'new ABC parts wont conect with your computer sir we dont know why'
3 weeks later merc technician from merc uk comes and sorts problem with HIS laptop machine thingy sorted :p :p
was told by derwent that parts flown from germany often have problems with instalation in these cars as they are so advanced (true or not i dont know)
anyway cut a long story short fell out with derwent over not doing something we were charged for we went to mercedes benz york very good service etc
wednesday last week the speakers stoped working no music no command sat nav sounds took it to york 3 hrs later 'we have to order parts come back next wednesday it will take 2 hours to fit them'
fitted new parts couldn't get the computer to accept them sat there all day yesterday
'need to order another part should arrive 11 am tommorow (today) a couple of hours to fit and we should be ok'
called me at 16.30 'sorry sir we cant get the new part to comunicate with your command unit and your computer'
my responce 'CALL MERC UK TO SEND THE SAME BLOKE AS BEFORE'
so there you have it ive had a whine and groan (you dont get to moan a lot when you drive a car like this and get paid for doing it :p )
spoke to my boss at t time hes selling this car in the next few months because its 3 in october (£7k of warrenty work so far in last 12 months without this episode) he is thinking of buying an S65 AMG
am i bitter or downhearted??? :)
AM I FCUK

Interesting - I have just bought a S320L CDI that is just about to turn 3 years old and was serviced by Derwent in Leeds (I think - 01332?). I have a load of electrical problems which my local dealer, Western in Edinburgh, are in the process of dealing with. They reckon they are going to have to strip the interior in order to get to the bottom of the problem. Hmmmmmm.

The V5 on my car shows a interesting sounding owner based near Leeds living in a "Hall" no less. Wonder if he had a professional driver as well?!

yeah!! bagsy the rear tandem seat !!!

LOL !!!

i do think that you would need to be on the front one...as having the robust lady in front will mean you wont fit on the rear one as she will spill over onto that too.....not sure they make wheels that will hold all that weight up.

and that stupid grin she always has........monster.

on the s55 the wireing from command goes in a loop under back seats and into boot then back into command they had boot liner and rear seats out :? my boss owned a s500 and another merc but im not too sure what it was and yes he did live in a hall but im sure it cant be the same man can it?? the odds are rather large me thinks
as for "profesional driver" im not to sure im that good im just a driver come gofer
P.S. he has looked at the new price of a S65 and says he wants one around 6 mths old due to the £20-30k saving merc are trying to locate one for him  im sure it will be a bind for me but ill have to manage lol

You're a lucky man! I'm sure that it can't be the same man - I'm running around in a diesel, not a petrol engined monster. He's not called John is he?
