Some of you may remember that 3 and a half years ago my wife and I were involved in a serious car crash in which an uninsured driver hit us sideways on at high speed having earlier hit a Vauxhall Astra containing a Mum, Dad and their 3 kids. That crash left one of the kids in the Astra seriously hurt and my wife with chest injuries which triggered a reaction from which she is unlikely to fully recover.
He faced 9 charges including causing injury by dangerous driving and was given 5 and a half months to start when his current sentence of 4 years for knife assault and theft with use of an imitation firearm, was completed. Since completing his sentence for our accident, he has again been in jail, I think, for fraud.
Imagine my surprise when I saw his name appearing in the following article having stolen a car in Tenerife, crashed it and attempted to steal a motorbike, before running off and 4 hours later succumbing to a cocktail of drink and drugs.

The Daily Mail also reported the accident in a slightly more compassionate way, but I can't seem to find it now.
The sad thing is that he leaves a partner with a young child and another on the way, as well as his own near family and it is for them that I feel sorry at this sad time.
