Hi, I have a 1998 C200 W202 and need to change the SAM Module, I have taken the part out and have the Merc No. 019 545 56 32 and the Temic Part No of 304585, but could anyone advise if the SAM module is programmed to suit the model of the car.
I only ask as I have seen a replacement part at a breakers that came out of a CLK 2.3. It has the same part numbers but I don't want to cause any further issues by fitting it to my C200.

Thanks for any advice.

I believe its almost unique to each car - lesser impact on simple, earlier stuff,

in general, if it comes from same model, engine and toy count it will just work
if its from a higher toy count vehicle then should mostly work (unless the toys impact the lesser toys u have (distronic for example), from a lower toy count some stuff may not

its unlikely many here will know, take the replacement to an expert and go from there... safer, easier, less stress
always check the lights indicators and brake lights function before u drive anywhere

Like the expression, 'toy count'.
But what counts as toy number one?

2014 639 Viano- 651, 5sp Auto. 2009 S211- 646, 5sp Auto.
I've replaced SAM's in C class and Vito / Viano, as late as 2009.
The parts numbers were identical and were plug and play, no issues,

aside from the fact that not all breakers SAM's are perfect.

If you get a SAM that cures your faults and introduces new faults then the replacement has faults of its own, if the same faults persist then you don't know if it's something else.
Cheaper than MB though so worth the punt, and if eBay can be returned.

In truth I'm happy to keep a SAM with known faults for possible future diagnosis.

Thanks for you help, I ordered from Ebay with guarantee of working condition. My C200 is the Classic version so hopefully all functions will be restored.

Just to let others know, I fitted the SAM module over the weekend and all indicators, wipers & washer jets are now working fine.
