Sat Nav/Command/SD card?

So, I have just bought my 2011 C220 CDI. It came without a manual although U have ordered one but it will be a couple of days before it arrives. But I have a couple of questions.
When I try to open the command function (just to see what the hell it is) it tells me my phone does not have a data connection. Although not a mainstream brand, it is a 5g android. I can stream my audio by Bluetooth, and I can make and answer calls by Bluetooth, so it is connected. What am I doing wrong? I use Giffgaff as my PAYG provider.

Then there is the SD card slot near the CD slot, is that needed to save my personal POIs to? Or is it for map updates? Or is it just for my audio? I stream everything off my phone so do not need to store audio stuff on it, but I would like to be able to save addresses etc

If I do need an SD card, which one should I get?

Beware of likin too much tech.... Useful tech is that that does somat u used to have to do, such that you never need to think about it again.. N that's as rare as rockin horse shxte!!! In my experience it just forces you into learning to understand, fix it , or havin ur cc burnt gettin someone u previously never needed to fix it for you

Wow that gives a lot of info.... There is a code for the head unit, is that what is needed here for me to start understanding my current question? I do not want to waste everyone's time by posting a huge amount of info

If you have that info. Uyou can now go to Google again to find out more, call command online or ask Cs (if ur lucky) at benz for more info. Alt post on here maybe someone has same and can advise you.

Command online does not like my phone for some reason.... Unless I am just a complete tool....
It says my phone does not support data

I can now see that I can do nothing until the destruction manual arrives... I need more knowledge, before I know enough to ask a lny questions at all.....

As the manual is coming from fleabay, I just hope that Evri do not live up to expectations
