Hi, I have a replacement command unit for my CLC, but I'm struggling to fit it, can anyone recommend an installer in the Manchester Area?

Thanks

Start up failure

HI, thanks for the post,

The problem being the unit switches on, but only as far as the Mercedes logo, I've had the unit a couple of years and finally tried to fit it. I have been told that the unit is a direct replacement, the plugs on the rear fit without any changes and I have bought an update disc which spins but as the unit stays on the logo hasn't been any benefit.

So now I'm stuck!

I assume you mean CLS? The CLC has only just come out and you say you've had the command unit for a while.
What was there before - An Audio20 radio/cd or an Audio 50 sat nav?

Hi, thanks for the possitive posts,

yes it is a clc350, the command unit is a be6096, which one of the surrey based companies confirmed would be a direct replacement (although they didn't supply the unit). I bought the unit for my previous C class but never got round to fitting it.
The unit fitted was a radio/cd model MF2730.

With regards to the article - link I am printing it off and will look for some tips in there.

Thanks again for your assistance

If the Mercedes logo comes on and then the unit switches off it is because the fibre isnt connected to it, or there is no fibre in the car and it expects it or the fibre is broken.

Is this an install of Comand into a car that didnt have it originally?

If so, then you need a lot more than just the head unit i'm afraid.
