Hi,I am importing a 2007 320ML from the US soon.It has satnav and I was wondering if anyone knew whether I can just update the software to get it to work here in the UK,I'm hoping I don't have to change the whole sat nav system, does anyone know what needs to be done to get it to work in the UK.
Thanks

No the Satnav will not work in the uk its a different system and even the radio section is not the same and only tunes up to around 91mhz and also tunes in .5 increments

As above. Also the headlights will not dip to the left (if they're zenons then:shock::shock: they will be costly) + the rear foglight will be on the wrong side (no, not just a bulb replacment)

Headlights should not be a problem, on the 163 there is a small lever inside each light unit that diverts the dipped beam to the opposite direction........i would expect your newer model will be the same.....Regarding the rear fog light, simply run a feed wire from one lamp unit to the other, as i did on mine when i exported it to spain.

Yes, 'newer' as in 164.........i would be surprised if they do not have the adjuster as with the 163

Tell me more about the 'little lever' to change to RH dip, please

The trouble with the lever trick is that they do not reverse the pattern. What it does is shuts off the angled sloping beam & makes it a flat beam. The (SVA ??) who controls import testing is getting more strict & want to see a proper "angled to the left" beam. You may be lucky but my customer with a 203 couldn't get approved without new headlights. :-(

As far as i understand this adjustment feature is only available on the >2002 model facelifted ML's with the 'clear-glass' projector type headlights.

Sometimes it is possible to buy the 'glass only' for headlights, i dont know if MB offer the part separately, and would also depend on whether the glass is clipped in or bonded (bonded cannot be renewed) but if they do then just buying new glass from MB Espana will convert your beam pattern to rh dip (it is the 'pattern' ridges in the glass itself that deflects the beam)

Obviously, the above doesnt apply to clear glass h/lights.
