Satellite navigation fault

I have a 2014 B class se fitted with a Becker Map Pilot. I had not used it for some time but when I turned it on today it was locked in the last address I had used. The bottom right hand side of the screen showed zero satellites or sometimes a red cross. I have tried removing the Map pilot for some minutes and the replacing it but no change. In desperation i tried a factory reset but all it did was to take me to a place in Germany. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

I had problem with the same becker system, It was booked to go into daler as under warranty but all i did was unplug the anntena and connected a sepeate anntena which just sits on corner of dash works fine for last 2 year. I will try and find the advert for the one i used.

many thanks for your prompt reply. Please excuse my ignorance but my unit is fitted in the glove box, and feels well fixed, how do I get to the original antenna to replace it with the new one

Had a problem with mine recently but not the same as yours.
Mine turned out to be the battery in the removable box in the glove box.
11 year old and almost dead £12 for a new one and all sorted out.

Via removing the glovebox just unplug the origanal anntenna tuck the wire out of way and plug in the new one using the cable in the second link, if you pull the cover off the end of dash (passanger side if in UK) you will be able to feed the new anntenna cable into dash and let the new antenna sit in the corner where we used to put the tax disk. any excess cable can be coiled up and ty-rap to some existing cable around where becker unit is.

I had this recently, drive down the road, picked up a satellite eventually and sorted itself out, nothing wrong after that either

The battery powers the sat-nav.
The box in the glovebox is the sat-nav.
My battery was 11 years old and had swelled didn't hold charge at all.
Computer would see the drive but by the time i had opened the Becker software the battery power was gone.
£12 for a battery and easy to change i now have the latest map and speed camera warnings job done.
