Yep, like me, still use the 2002 satnav in my SL, it's a real drama to finally find the address without postcodes but got me to within 100metres from my destination unlike the 2009 SLK's satnav which would only get you to the road you wanted, which was good I suppose but sometimes the road can be 2-3 miles or more longWhy not just get Google Maps on your phone? Updates for free in real-time and is the best sat-nav I've ever used. I'm quite surprised these days to find people who still use the factory installations...
Depends whether you have the Garmin Map Pilot system (may even be Becker Map Pilot for 2015) or Mercedes' own Comand system.Hi guys
I was just wondering satnav update where can I go?
I have a c220 cdi e class coupe 2015

The factory system in my 2018 car is excellent and saves me having trailing wires and phones stuck on the screen. Why not just get Google Maps on your phone? Fair point but the "wires" can always be discreetly routed and phone cradles can be mounted pretty much anywhere. The factory system in my 2018 car is excellent and saves me having trailing wires and phones stuck on the screen.

Google Maps can be operated entirely hands-free via Google Assistant. You also don't need postcodes - you can just say, "Take me to B & Q in Stoke Poges"... Can any factory unit do that?
Actually, yes. The comand in my car does stuff like this (except you have to say "Navigate to ..." rather than "Take me to..."). The online search is pretty good. You also don't need postcodes - you can just say, "Take me to B & Q in Stoke Poges"... Can any factory unit do that?
Not in the local DB I don't think, but modern Mercedes have LTE built in and permanently on-line and if it's not in the local DB, it defers to online search which seems to find most things.Impressive. So it's got the names of shops, businesses, schools etc in its database, not just locations?
With the added advantage that when you open it out, you can't see the speedometer so have a good excuse for being "a bit over the limit". Just be careful you don't spill your coffee on it as you turn the page going up the motorwayYou need one of these

Clever! One last thing: can you view your maps as an aerial photograph, not just a map drawing? In other words, can you SEE the school building you're heading for and note that it's opposite a go-karting track, 3 fields up from a line of trees? Not in the local DB I don't think, but modern Mercedes have LTE built in and permanently on-line and if it's not in the local DB, it defers to online search which seems to find most things.
