:Hi All,
Well the SBC problem seems fine now, all working properly, I have however taken advice from a few of you good chaps and contacted Mercedes UK in Milton Keynes and informed them of my long winded and expensive saga,:(

I emailled Customer services and gave them the full story, within 1hr I got a reply from the Netherlands stating due to comments I made regarding the safety aspects of SBC failure, they were opening a case and said they will contact me with a reply within 10 working days,:D.

I also told them that I would be posting their replies on this excellent website for the benefit of the members.;).

Well thanks again lads and watch this space:rolleyes:.

Hi Alfie B

Bet you cannot wait for the 'Corporate' reply and I have no doubt will be worded in latest 'business speak'.

The fact you told them that reply will be published on open forum will no doubt tax their lawyers brains in wording a response to your observations/concerns, especially as you have highlighted a 'safety feature' with implications that has. Wonder if you will receive a 'gagging clause' ??

Legal wizards will require litres of hair restorer due to head scratching that will occur with composition of reply to Alfie B's concerns/observations.

I am sure they will reply as Alfie B has shown his determination and not likely to be fobbed off by Corporate claptrap. Content and wording of reply will be interesting to read.

In my case, O2 found that a determined customer is not going to rollover easily - ignored 2 x recorded letters and perhaps thought I would go away - CEO was not impressed when personal letter (copies of ignored letters attached and recorded delivery signatures of his employees) arrived on his desk together with copy of 'Mission Statement' from Company Web Site. I pointed out what a load of c..p that was in relation to my experience with them - action within one day when my original efforts failed after three weeks !!!

Hi Bill,
when I read their reply it certainly did seem like they are going to word any reply carefully:lol: thanks very much for your words of encouragement they really are appreciated, too often the little guy is trodden on and fobbed off,
well I will post their reply word for word for the good guys to read.
