hi, i know this is common on the w211 02 onwards e class, but isnt the noise it makes when it operates terrable, has mercedes developed a one that doesnt make a noise every time you stop.
How old is your car? Has it had all the mods & software updates? How much have you complained about it? Complain MORE!! You should get a result. You should not have to pay any costs refuring to the SBC pump itself.
There was a kit apparently that quietens it down a bit but my dealer looked at me blankly when I mentioned it. As mine is a diesel the SBC isn't so much of a problem (lots of other noisy bits) but I imagine I'd be irritated if I had a quiet petrol.
Just got a replacement to my 210 - Love it except for the SBC noise - what is an 'acceptable' noise level? - How can I tell if a dampener has been fitted?
