Simple things please simple minds! :roll:
After owning my E270 Auto for 6 month's, I've just found out how to engage SBCH. Sure, I read about it in the Manual but something must have got lost in the translation because I got nowhere. Then this morning I found, by accident, that if you are stationary and then press hard on the footbrake, SBCH comes up on the display and your car doesn't move even though it's in DRIVE.
Just thought I'd pass this little gem on. I know it will make you really clever guys 'Tut'

Hi Bob.

SBCH is a gizmo that means you don't have to expend energy pressing the brake pedal or shifting to Park when you are at a standstill in a traffic queue or where-ever. When I read about it in the Manual I thought 'what a waste of time' but now I'm quite taken with it. It's all part of the Total Relaxed Driving package, like not having to turn your rain sensing wipers on or your lights. Mind you I'm a bit iffy about whether tey come on in fog.

Does anyone know how you can tell if your lights are on? (apart from riding flat on the bonnet).

Thanks Dave, your car must be newer than mine, (1996), I thought I may have missed something. I'll have to stick to mandraulic switching!
