My nephew down under had a nasty scratch on his 4WD found this product on Ebay (direct from Germany) and hey presto all is well again.

Check out the pics. that is if I have done the attachment bit right:confused:

It appears I did get it right but they are back to front so look at them right to left - doh:confused::confused:

Ok Im downunder .How do I get some?
Ps How permanent is it ? I have used a colour polish before which masks scratches .However it will wear off after a couple of washes.

He found the stuff on Ebay and had to order from Germany and it appears it is not one of the coloured waxes.

Does it have to be the correct colour then? I just ordered from the Ebay ad myself, It didnt mention a particular colour?

No need as the cream/paste does the removal on any colour.

What you have there in the pics isnt a paint scratch its a scuff mark and you could have taken it out with any of the polishes on the market.. If you have a deep scratch into the lacquer and paint there is no polish on this earth that will remove it..polish will gloss over fine scratches and make them invisible to the eye...

Thats what I thought, but if you look at the video on the Ebay item, the tester said it was the only one of a number of solutions tested that actually fixed deep scratches. I guess it works by removing paint from the surrounding area and dragging it into the scratch. Anyway Ive ordered some, at a tenner its worth a try.

Cheers

I have talked to the supplier in the UK he states that the product will work on all Mercs fine. Dont have to be specific with colour.

Yep sure will, Im going to try it on the wifes Zafira first on various scratches and swirls. I also have quite a deep set of scratches on my plastic side panel where I caught it on the garage brick pillar on reversing out. Havent got a working Digital camera at the moment, but will try and sort that to do some before and after pics.

Cheers

One thing you cant do is remove paint from one area of a car and put it into a scratch, anyone who tells you this knows absolutely nothing about car paint . Cars are painted in colour.. the colour is basically only a dye, it is then coated with a clear lacquer/varnish to give the paint gloss, depth and protection.. so when you polish or t cut, it is the clear lacquer finish that is being abraded so no way can you polish colour into a scatch..and when lacquer is polished or sanded it turns white ..and even if you could polish colour into a scratch or score it would only stay there until it was washed out because it is only dust with no body or grip...

And one other thing ..many of the ads and pictures you see of this process being done have been filmed in reverse or the scrapes have been painted on ..just watch some of the miracle claims on the american tv cannnels... ever watched the one where the guy sets the bonnet on fire by pouring lighter flluid on it and the amazing wax protector stops it from burning the paint..remember he uses lighter fuel... and this is a common party trick...please dont try it at home.... go to a local car park......... next to a fire station...

I will seek the distributor's opinion as this is an important issue for all members.

Can members who have actually used this product provide an opinion.

They were done by his youngest son and he had already tried a number of proprietary brands of so called scratch remover and polish but none worked, this stuff did so I am simply passing on a result.

I would agree if the paint had been totally compromised down to the undercoat/primer or metal then now't will remove however it would appear that it can also be used to prepare for a touch-up or localised spray repair.
