Hi,

Someone has been routinely vandalising my car when parked in my usual parking slot. Scratches have been left on the right side driver and passenger doors and on the bumper. I suspect it's the neighbours but have no way of proving it for now. Planning to get these fixed first and then install a surveillance camera on top of my garage later. Can anyone please give me a rough idea of how much it will cost to fix these types of scratches. The car is a Mercedes A class, 2019 model and it's my first car in the UK. Any guidance will be much appreciated!! 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg

The top scratches on the door look like an adjacent door has been opened into it. These are cause by careless people who don't care about scratches on their own car door either!

If the spaces with your neighbours are parellel it's a possibility

Unfortunately cost is a very hard thing to gauge, I would guess between £400-900

Sorry to hear this. A quality CCTV camera is essential in every manner of everyday life so don’t get one that that can tamper with.

This is impact damage rather such as another car having its door heavily flung open, bumper cars etc. A smart repairer should be fine for that and you’d probably be looking at around £500.

I would say leave it, have the CCTV fitted and see if anymore damaged is inflicted. I

Thank you @alexanderfoti and @DSK . I strongly suspect it's the neighbours but I am pretty sure they would deny it. Hopefully I will catch them with evidence if it happens again.

Was wondering if putting a car cover prevents such scratches?

A car cover would be more hassle than it’s worth in my opinion, they also have the potential to cause their own problems.

Depending on what your parking area is like, a fence may be the a better option as that’s a physical barrier?

I’m more concerned at how they inflicted the rear damage as that’s over the top for nasty neighbours. Any neighbour with an ounce of decency would apologise for that. If at the neighbours doing this than CCTV is a must as who knows how far they are prepared to go!
