Screeching noise on hard turn

Hi
My 2012 vito makes a very loud screeching noise when I hard turn to the left or right. Its fine when I am driving but if I go to park or turn around the noise is so loud it makes people look in my direction. It doesn't affect the van in anyway and no lights have come on. I have put up with it for a couple of weeks but wondering if anyone has had that issue and what it might be

Could it be the serpentine belt slipping?

If it happens when holding the wheel against the stop then stop doing it as that can damage the pump. In the owner manual it explicitly says not to do so.
If it's not hard against the lock stop then you have a slipping belt or low fluid level.

Ok, thank you. Will have to get that looked at.

Also check the Power steering fluid level. Low fluid will make the pump squeal when turning sharply.

Belt loose ,or steering is on full lock that is not advised in hand book .

Thank you, for your replies. I have been told it is the auxiliary belt and tensioner that are causing the fault
