Both the ealectric seat adjusters have become loose. They are in the door frame and I am trying to understand how to put them back. Will I have to remove all the door interiors-please say no!

seat adjuster clips

When you say seat adjuster in the door frame..do you mean the wood veneer panels?

If so, I have just bought the parts required to fit them back in my 92 sl. Available direct from MB dealer all parts required cost less than £20.00. May still have the part numbers if I am on the right track.

Previous owner of my sl obviously thought parts either not available seperately or too expensive as they had jammed them in using a self tapping screw.

To refit, pull interior handle and remove top part of veneer trim to access screw which holds securing plate for lower panel (with switches in). Undo screw to release securing plate and reassemble from the lower part upwards.

can you let me have the part numbers? It is the veneer panelling that has become loose on both sides. Bluetack and bent cardboard have not worked!

correct glue

The original glue used was one of the Cyanoacrylate types. (instant glue) MB used to sell the special one for this, not sure now though. Three drops of Evo stick will do the job must you must de-grease first to remove the blue tack etc
