In the last week, I have noticed that the Seat Belt light indicator will not extinguish. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is and how do I solve the problem. I would be ever so grateful for any assistance with this matter as it is rather annoying. Thanks to who ever in anticipation of help. :D

im not familar with your car, but you might try and opening up the wire covering that runs into the seatbelt latch, and then touch the wires together, see if that works. that sould only take a minute or two.
Does the light come on when you start up then stay on or is it intermittent?
My light (and buzzer) would come on b/c i had a dying electrical system, Hope that isnt it.

on my car,,,

regradless if you put the seat belt on, the light goes out... it only should flash for a few seconds.. as on mine it's only a warming light and isn't connected to the buckle..

I'd first check that the wires to it are not lose in anyway, and are not damaged.

what type of mb is it?
are there any other electrical problems?

There are no other problems, it's a 190E 1.8 K Reg. The lights are on all the time, they do not go out at all, not even when the car is parked up. Sorry not to have come back sooner, but I have been away.

Thanks for your help.

I have a 91 190D my seat belt indicator works in the same way as you interior light.
You don?t even have to have the ignition on or the seat belt in the clip for the light to extinguish. Try putting the interior light switch to the position where you open the door the light comes on and see if the pin switches on the front doors are working ok also check the wires on the front switches. Hope this helps.

I've a '93 190E 2.0. Its belt reminder will keep flashing whenever the boot isn't fully latched shut. Could this be the problem?
