My passenger seat on my X reg CLK only works up and down , but not forward and backward. The local indie garage, I'm currently in Ireland, but which I use for fuel often for years, have looked at it and have said it's the motor which requires to be replaced. There is a clicking noise when you use the button. As I guess the motor is expensive and the cost of removing the seat (and its stability and safety in the future) has made me wary of having it done. Could anyone know a reasonable figure would be for this repair, when back in UK?
Could it just be a faulty relay, as opposed to the motor. The "solution" was done by a youngish mechanic in his late 20's and without any electrical test equipment, so obviously I am doubtful on their solution.
Anyone who can give me any tips - think I read somewhere about resetting the seat???? How??? Is that possible???
Any info appreciated
