i just bought a 2000 C230 Kompressor. i was having problems with the parking brake. when i tore into the parking brake assembly, parking brake splitter mechanism, and parking brake adjusting 'star', i have come to find out the parking brake cable is completely frozen. the cable from the pedal assembly to the splitter assembly it is like a muscle man tug of war to move the cable a few millimeters.

has anyone ever replaced a cable from the pedal to the splitter assembly? if so, where can i buy the parts? or is this a job for the dealership?

i have searched this forum for answers to no avail.

any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Malcolm

I am new to the forum and I have noticed you may have the answer to a problem I am having on my 2000 C200 Kompressor (W202) where my Foot HandBrake is sticking and I have to put my foot under the pedal to release it.

Could you send me to the work sheet mentioned in the post.
I have sent you an email with my details.

Thanking you in advance.
