Self fixing lights ?

2 weeks ago, warning light on dash of my W208 clk alerted me to one of my tail lights being out.

Before I got round to replacing the bulb, no more warning light on dash and bulb is now working !

Am I imagining things ?

I had this on my front n/s fog, as soon as I turned the fogs on, the dash screamed at me about lights malfunction. It was just the contacts between the connector block and the light. Worth checking some simple things before you worry

Yep I get the 'lamp failure' light come up on my W202 every couple of months. Just go round the car, tap the offening lense and hey presto! Light comes on, error lamp goes off.

Warning light was on every night for 2 weeks, then nothing - not intermittant or anything.

Also happened about a year ago with a front sidelight.

I get this occasionally with my 202's, and as Mr Shr says a sharp tap on the light and all is ok.
If you take out the offending lamp give it a wipe over and clean the contact at the bottom of it, and retension the lamp holder contacts usually clears mine for a year or so.

Had the same problem on my C280. I now spray with switch cleaner and clean contacts on bulbs every 12 months. No probs...

Thats the way to do it, never use sand paper they are only flash plated
