I will doing a service on my 230 TE next week when its a little warmer!!! I was wondering if I should do an oil flush defore changing the oil and filter, only reason I ask is the hydraulic lifters are a little noisy I also suspect the chain tensioner is also not as good as it should be but I will replace that as part of the service.

What do you guys suggest product wise?

Hi jib, I wouldn't use a flushing oil and merc don't recommend it but I would use a 15w-50 oil . That'll cure the noisy lifters.

Ok ta, the service book shows dealer servicing through to 188k which is the current mileage, some oil changes are show every 4k to 6k.
Car runs brilliantly and the self levelling suspension works a treat.
