I have just put my wifes CLK Cab Sport in the garage and cannot believe it as the display shows service "A" due in 30 Days, The car is only 7 months old and covered less than 2700 Miles. Is this right or is it set up incorrectly?? Thanks Gordon

Hello,

Sure others will be here to offer more knowledgable advice, I thought it goes off you millage or how you drive...

Thats sounds very low millage even if you have been having 'fun' for most of them.

Was the car bought new & was it registered or standing around for a while before you bought it?

What happened to MB going to fixed period servicing - I thought the plan was for all cars from late 06 to be on this; 12mths or 15,500 miles?

Might be counting down since build date ? are the dealers meant to re-set it when they do a PDI?

Yes - this is part of the pdi and should be reset to day of registration. get the dealer to check the service assyst plus control unit with the star and reset the days since last service to the registration date. very easy to do

Normally it would show mileage to next service. Many factors are used to determine this, but mostly driving style. Hard town driving will drastically shorten the service intervals. Long easy motorway driving will increase it.

The time until next service reduces steadily. This reduction thoguh seems very strange. Did it reduce rapidly or did a sudden change happen? I would suspect the unit was wrongly programmed because it is set to call up time relaterd service if the car is not reaching the variable mileage intervals. Otherwise a 2,000 mile a year driver would never see a service.

Many thanks, the dealer has accepted that the PDI reset was not carried out and is to be done on Monday. Thanks for all the replies - Gordon
