Service B

Hi all,
Service B notice came on and I checked with Mercedes online and they are quoting £1126 !!!
Which there is no way I will be paying.
My car has 158k on the clock (Sept 2017 EClass 4 matic estate) so at that mileage I’m not thinking that an official MB service will make much difference to the cars value.
I have a quote from BookMyGarage Secret service at a fraction of that - has anyone used them or can recommend a decent Indy in Edinburgh please.

That’s just for the service, for the gearbox oil and filter service they want another £585 on top of the service.

That’s can’t be right for a service , that’s incredible . Are you sure the additional items aren’t all included ?
Gearbox service alone is a couple of hundred cheaper at an Indy

No that’s the prices.

My thoughts excactly!! My indie charged me £280 for gearbox service and that included plugging in laptop and clearing any faults.....so £585 is just a blatent rip off!!

Is that what Edinburgh Mercedes will charge you?
A workmate has a 2016 E220d estate although I dont think it is 4matic.
He recently needed his first service after buying the car and it was a B then a number that I cant remember which....but 3 or 6 comes to mind.
He got a ridiculous main dealer quote then went with an independant at a fraction of the cost. Not sure where he went but it will be near Glenrothes.

The additional items are the time dependent items and they will be included in the quoted price.

That said over 500 nuggets for an g box service......ridiculous.
