Yes it can be reset - there is a procedure that you'll find in your manual involving pressing certain buttons whilst turning the ignition on and off, closing one eye and singing the Marseillaise.

Or alternatively check through previous posts as the question has come up a couple of times recently.

Cheers chaps.

I checked out the previous thread which I hadn't realised was so recent.

Assyst reset

Assyst Reset
  • Turn Key to position '2' and immediately press Button '1' (on the instrument display) twice quickly.
  • The service miles will appear on the display
  • Within 10 secs of doing this turn key back to position '0' (off)
  • Press button '1' again and hold whilst turning key back to position '2'
  • Keep the button pressed until you hear a sound signal (about 10secs)
If you do not do exactly as per instructions, it will not work. It is best to print out the above.

On the same theme ...

Does the service computer record the status of disc pad wear and indicate when replacement is required? If so, has it to be reset after the pards are replaced?

Or is the pad wear indicator much simpler, i.e. the indicator comes on when pads need changing and extinguishes when the pads have been replaced?

REGARDS Phil
