Hello,

I did an oil service today on my c 220 cdi w202 and I need to reset the indicator, Im sure this has been asked many times before!, this is my first merc and I am not familiar with the resetting process, I don't mind buying a tool to do it but I don't want to buy the wrong one, am I right in thinking the draper one 24 pin will do it? I assume mercs are similar to bmw's where it's simply a case of joining a couple of the pins in the diagnostic port for a few seconds???.

It's a good feeling this self maintanence lark!

Assyst Reset
  • Turn Key to position '2' and immediately press Button '1' (on the instrument display) twice quickly.
  • The service miles will appear on the display
  • Within 10 secs of doing this turn key back to position '0' (off)
  • Press button '1' again and hold whilst turning key back to position '2'
  • Keep the button pressed until you hear a sound signal (about 10secs)
If you do not do exactly as per instructions, it will not work. It is best to print out the above.

Hi Jules,

I know what you mean I found the button 1 thing confusing to they actualy mean button 0.

* Turn Key to position '2' and immediately press Button '0' (on the instrument display) twice quickly.
* The service miles will appear on the display
* Within 10 secs of doing this turn key back to position '0' (off)
* Press button '0' again and hold whilst turning key back to position '2'
* Keep the button pressed until you hear a sound signal (about 10secs)
this worked a treat for me.

sorry for the delay

Arnie
