Service Interval ML270 CDI

Advice required, please.

Assist shows another 7500miles to go before a service. BUT, the engine oil looks really black.

The car was last serviced 12 months ago - but has done 8000 miles since (mainly long motorway journeys).

The question is: would you advise an oil/filter change before the next service - regardless of what Assist shows?

Diesel oil gets dirty very quickly. It's common for these engines to go 15K between services. Just keep the oil topped up & wait till 7000 miles

Also, make sure that only the best quality engine oil is used ie = Mobil 1
