Hello.

I own a very tidy 1995 e220 w124 coupe (M111.960).

I am gathering all the parts for the service myself.

Put simply where do you (people in the know) buy parts? GSF, Euro’s and the like or Oem dealers?

I need the basics like oil (I use Castrol on my 2 older BMW’s), filters, plugs and transmission fluid (one thing that I have never had serviced).

Sorry for the basic question but good to know what brands and outlets you recommend.

Thanks

Kit

(Lastly, for the right offer I may sell the car if anyone is interested, appeared in the official uk magazine shortly before I bought it 6 years ago)

MB dealer using the vin

oil needs to be right spec 229.3

Enjoy the forum
Thanks.

If there’s a dealer especially good with older cars let me know (like Bmw Cotswolds are for my e30 & e34 touring).

Was going to go for 10w40 Shell Helix HX7 oil which is 229.3. (Unless people recommend 5w30/40 instead).

I used mobil 1 on my w124 from day 1 (brand new car) till rust got the better of the car. The engine was sweet as a nut.

Any MB dealer will have the parts.

Out of interest did you use the 5w or 10w?
