Service notice popped up ..

I have just had a notice on my dash that says A9 service is due ..?
Can anyone tell me what this entails and also an idea on how much it might be..

As above, unless a main dealer service history is important to you, use an indy like alexanderfoti and save yourself some money.
The digital service book will be updated and he will use all OE parts.

I have phoned around for prices at indies which are quite good tbh ranging from £260.00 upwards .. I called MB first though and they said that the Transmission oil needs changing as well and the cost including everything is £706.73 ..?
Would the gearbox oil need changing ? It’s a 2016 E220 with 61k miles ...

If its not been done since new then I'd advise getting it done at 61K miles.
It's not that time consuming, its just that main dealer hourly rates are twice that of most independents. I'd still look at an independent Mercedes specialist rather than a general garage though.

It has the 7g + I think ..

7G+ should be ~37K miles

9G is 75K miles (although my friend was told by Mercedes that he should get it done on his 350GLC at 3 years (it only has 21K miles on...) very much touting for business...

Not bad. I paid around £750 for a B Service, transmission fluid change and MOT for my previous 7g box back in early 2018 at a well known Southampton indie. Do we know what @alexanderfoti would charge?

We are £440 + VAT - £528

B service with Transmission change would be £650 with the VAT

A is the service type, but the number is incremental, and indicates the total number of additional items.

Usually just a gearbox service in addition to the standard is a lower number
