Service recomendation near Grantham (UK), transfer of MB Me

Hi,
First post other than saying "Hi", so hope this is in the correct place. Couple of questions.

1. Can anybody recommend a a specialist who can service MB near Grantham, Lincs ? As far as I can see, my nearest dealers are in Boston (UK ) and Peterborough.

2. My used car Mercedes Me is still "connected" to the previous owner. After a bit of research, I think, I can get it transferred if a take it to a dealer with the correct documentation (V5, ID) and they can change the link to my mobile. Is that correct? Any easier way?

Personally I use an Independent in Nottingham for our cars, there are a couple that are very good at what they do and are half the labour cost of dealerships. I use MBCentre which is near the Racecourse, or there is Mercserve out on Radford road which a couple of the other forum members use. Both have full online star diagnostics and use genuine MB parts.
Re the “ME” yep pretty much as simple as that, take everything you can for ID of yourself and car ownership to a dealership (you could nip to Lincoln which might be closer than Peterborough) and they should be able to reassign to you. Although many people find the app a bit of a waste of time in reality.

Mercedes Me should be quite useful in a 2018 car but it’s just a gimmick on older ones. I have heard of people who’ve been able to contact Mercedes Customer Services to get registered but you have to use the call buttons in the car in the overhead panel. That way they know you have legal access to the car.

I was only going to echo @V6Matty.

I would also say that its worth travelling that bit extra for strongly recommended garages, its likely to cost you less money and a happier experience.

I have a 2014 S class and had the Me module fitted. It told me nothing useful and I kept kicking it where it hung down under the dash. Also the flap covering the OBD port rattled on it until I added a bit of foam rubber.
Now returned to Mercedes
