Service recommendations in Yorkshire

Hello, we bought our first Mercedes last year and love it. (a used 66 reg E class estate)
It’s now due a service and a local dealership has quoted £640!
Could anybody recommend a good and trusted garage or non official specialist? We live in Leeds, West Yorkshire, but could travel a bit further. Any recommendations would be most welcome. Thank you.

Problem with Leeds is that once you get there you can't get back out...

I must admit that when I was with the Hartwell Motor Group I used to be in Leeds every Tuesday and it did take me a bit of time to comprehend the road system. Once you got used to it it was ok, Our office was in Roundhay Road, and the compound was on the roof of a Storage Co. in Skinner street. No bother there. I remember there being a Filling Station on the middle of a roundabout that I used to pass too

Now the OP actually lives in Leeds, he surely should know it quite well I would have thought

I'll second Richard Hollings. I take my wife's car to him. I still get mine done at the dealer because I got a service contract for years 4,5&6 that was too good to pass on.

He is very busy (good sign??) so don't leave it to the last minute to get stuff done.

Hmm, I was a little surprised as well!
I'm currently Leeds based and having previously looked for an MB specialist in the closer neighbourhood was unable to find one who ticked all the boxes, the closest was http://www.germanautocare.co.uk/specialist-servicing.html but further enquiries with people in the trade led to mixed reports of the Co and their performances.

Hi Rory, sorry I didn’t see your msg. We decided to take it for a free service from the garage where we bought it last year. The only downside was we had to travel from Leeds to London for it but in the end decided to do the drive. But we will certainly be looking more locally if we have any other issues so we will probably try the guy in York. Thank you
