Service reset

W213 220d ,2017 .I use a non franchise MERCEDEZ dealer for derive and repairs .But they can not reset the service program ,do I need to go to a main dealer help please

Your using a mercedes dealer (non franchise) for service and he cant reset the service indicator.
I would have thought servicing a car would be bread and butter to such a garage.
I googled W213 service reset and there is the answer.
If my benz garage said - we cant reset the service indicator I would be looking for another garage. Did they say you need to go to a dealer. They seen cluless TBF

Well they said 2015 .2016 ,2017 only a few they said is there a soft wear update

As per above, if the garage doesn’t know how to reset the service indicator how do they know to service it...
Wiping the oil filter and stamping the non existent service book doesn’t count as a service...

Well they been very good so far they say it may need a software update that only a dealer can do ,only on 15,16,17 Reg e class ,this garage been going 30 years with good reputation

First thing you need to do with cars of that age is plug the laptop in!!

Do they have Star? If they don't, whilst they can physically change the oil and filter, they can't service this car. If they have been open for 30yrs they should have all the stuff, but Mercs really now need a good independent - they might be a good garage, but if they don't know how to turn off the service indicator, they won't have done 90% of the electronic stuff needed.

No, but I think the point was that OP might be better in future going to someone who understood Mercedes and had the technology to do a proper job.

I'm assuming but sounds like an old school mechanic who's good with old cars. With newer cars these days you got to have the right tools. Hopefully, he has used MB approved oil etc.

An independent Merc specialist with a subscription to the Star system will be able to update software, surely? Alex Foti did ours...

I use Welwyn Merx for my work, they’re also the closest Indy I’ve found but an easy 120 mile round trip for me. Depends where in Cambs the OP is

Yes for older cars. Newer cars however, more then an oil and filter. Software updates, calibrations and more... therefore you need the correct tool, star for example to ensure your car is running efficiently.
