Servicing in West London

I have just joined this forum and am looking for some advice please...... I have a C180 04 reg which until now I have had serviced at MB in Brentford. I don't have any particular complaints except that they are expensive! The car is due a B service and as it is now outside the warranty period, I am considering using someone else. In a previous search for some information, I seem to rememebr that MB in Hanwell received quite a few negative ratings.

Any suggestions for a reliable, value for money service in the Ealing/Acton and surrounding areas.

I use MB at Brentford as well, Olivia, and I agree they are expensive for what you actually get. My last B service there was £420 last year.

First experience was very positive, Mercs Only resolved an injector problem that a MB dealer in Oxford botched, rapidly and relatively cheaply. Ran my C270CDi from 30-100K in 30 months and knowing what I know today then I would use a dealer for servicing and Mercs Only for all repairs until the warranty expires then switch to an independent like Mercs Only. Have a current fuel sender fault and awaiting parts from Merc, interesting thing was that they were using diagnostic software from Mercedes. On the downside the location is non too salubrious.

The question for me is whether the C270 CDi was a good buy - I think it was however the sheer cost of main dealer servicing takes the shine off owning a Merc. Wish I had gone independent sooner. The argument re maintaining Mobilolife through dealer servicing is a bit weak, a mate had a puncture on an E55 AMG and because the car was over two years old, Merc charged (a lot)to assist - there are a lot of omissions in Mobilolife so if you have not done so, please take out AA/RAC/Greenflag or you may get quite a surprise even with a Merc dealer serviced car should you puncture or loose fluid from the car.

If you stay with main dealer and travel then MB Brentford sister garage in central Birmingham has some great deals on servicing at the moment which more than pay for the fuel to get there.
