Hi All,
Just had my 1998 E280 flash up that it is due a service in 600 miles
Although it would be nice to have a fully stamped service book, I intend to perform the services myself (with a bit of help from my Dad!) and keep evidence of the services (receipts, photos etc.) just to try and improve my DIY skills.
Am I correct in assuming that after the service the computer will need resetting? Does this need to be done with a STAR machine or is there a small tool to do the job? I remember my Dad had one for his BMW a few years ago. Would this tool (about 1/2 way down the page) do the job?

Also, is there a way of telling what service is due? It had one when I bought it in November and when I had the airbox off the other night the filter in there was brand new.
Many thanks,
SteveyT.
