Evening all,does anyone now a decent inde in the poole area? My E320 cdi is now showing several faults when wet and will soon be due a service (C+ 75,000 miles). My wifes C200 komp 54 plate 27,000 miles onwned by us from new just came back yesterday fron Jackson`s in poole after a basic sevice A at a cost of just over £300 which i think is exessive for a oil change! The car now comes up with sbc see owners manual when wet aswell as battery fault so i think it needs attention. I hoped i had got away from water related problems when i chopped in my Audi but it appears to have followed me! Thanks Alan

Why not go to BlackC55 in Portsmouth, he is the best for miles, they drive from London to use him and I go there as well

This may not be water as such but when the car is washed if the engine is warm at the time, this can aggravate the fault.

My faults came to light after washing the car when warm. The SAM control units had corrosion along the pins of the connector. The SAM's get hot when driving the car and this can make them sweat in certain weather conditions.

Please read this thread of my faults,and they started the same as yours. If caught early, then the connectors can be cleaned, and this is where the problems start

You could unplug them and spray the contacts with a good non drying switch cleaner.
They are in the front boxes, if you want to have a go I can send you the details

Just removing them and looking at the connector blocks and pins would show the fault

I would very much appretiate you sending me the details, again thank you. My dad is an old school mechanic (spark myself) so i dont mind playing around under the bonnet just need to have a bit of info to get me started then i am away.
