I have been having a problem with my C220 CDI 2003 in the last few weeks.
When the outside temp is lower than 5 degrees i get the following symptoms.
Car starts to shake every 10-15 seconds in idle mode (like its misfiring). Rumbling noise from under the bonnet near the air intake manifold. This dissapears as soon as the throttle is applied. Once the car is stationery again and in idle mode the symptoms reappear.
Symptoms completeley dissapear once engine temp reaches 80 degrees.
When the outside temp is higher than 5 degrees like today - no symptoms at all.
I have been to the dealers who initially replaced the fuel filter - no change.
The dealers then replaced the alternator pulley and tensioner - no change.
Can anyone please help and give me some advice.
Thanks
Sully.
