Shock absorbers

Hi all,

When driving down country roads feels like something is bouncing on the front very quickly and can feel it more when the roof is down. Can only think it's a front shock, having it put on the ramp monday so will hopefully be able to tell. I've done a bump test on it but feel ok. Cars done 111000. Can anyone tell me the best/cheapest place to buy the shocks please, tried europarts but out of stock.

Why not tyr a MB dealer you might find its not that expensive compaired.

Hi all,

Just put the car on the ramp and all is tight apart from the steering damper is leaking oil so my mechanic says that is the problem. I have found 2 at europarts for £26.00 will these be ok?

Hi,
It has only 1 steering damper, I had a new damper for my C230K (same part as your SLK) from ECP and its been fitted on my car now for 4 years, 60,000 miles plus and is still perfect.
Very, very easy job to do 2 easily acessable bolts to undo and tighten, no more than 10 minutes tops.

Shock absorbers / Suspension

I have a 2002 CLK 430 with 65,000 miles. I have noticed when I hit a bump it seems like it hits really hard. The ride isn't as smooth anymore. Is it time for new shocks or ???? :
