Hello to all, my boot is locked, a already know the vacume system doesn't work, but now the key wont turn the lock at all. The drivers lock is going the same way, will turn to open but not to lock. What i'm wondering at the moment is if its possable to gain access to the boot from rear seat? Andy.

Opened!

Big bloke knocked on door to tell me i left car door open, told him prob and fact that i tried blowing on vacuum pipe under rear seat to no avail, he tried and hey presto! opened boot lock. It also appears that its all solid behind rear seat so no way in.

If you need to access the boot again and big bloke cant help you will need to put a drill hole in the back of the car to poke the lock actuator open.

Best move:- sort out the locks while they still work.

To find out where to drill lift the panel out of the plastic moulding in the back of the boot and examine the lock actuator.

Its a bit of a drastic move to drill a hole but I cant see any other way of doing the job.

PS There are some pointers to what the system is made out of on this forum.

If the book lock no longer plays and the door lock is similar, I'd suspect your problem is with the key rather than the locks. They do tend to wear after a while and 19 years is good going. Unless you have a good one to copy you may have no option that to order a new one from the dealer.
